YES YES YES THEY FINALLY CAME!

Hmm...The opening ceremony in V.I actually shows that God really works in my favour 😄😄😄(saving fuel or Uber money ✅) ( Yes, I am shining my teeth even though I have a wisdom tooth ache😩) Well since I am becoming wiser ”I think” let me share some wise words with y’all

I was really excited about going had planned everything out ready to have a doughnut filled day🤗💃🏽and Noo trust me I could not just have only 1 as normal people do...Noo...I had to try as much as possible so dozens all the wayy.... even though my bank account got angry with me after.

Hmm....so the day before I had planned to go by 8am with my friend ( the best person I could ask to go with me😩🙈). thinking you know maybe I might be lucky and be top three 🤷🏽‍but well as life will have it I accepted my 152nd position and it was later announced that the first 3 people had been there since 3am😂 yes 3am, when I was having the maddest sleep  “I really can’t come and kill myself😩🤷🏽‍”. Which proves that Lagos people are hungry and Nigerians don’t joke with anything “free”attached to it😂💛

I just want to say the Krispy Kreme showed true and efficient service I mean everything was done in such an orderly manner, from the queuing (they didn’t allow jumping of queue or aunties and uncles that came after to jump the queue or say “uncle please just give me tag or allow me to enter”) to the giving of tags to the sales, all the staff were happy and ready to help and answer your questions. 

Secondly the ambience was really nice, shoutout to the M.C who kept the place lively with his games. everyone kept their good vibes and still smiling while under the hot sun fanning themselves with the flyers waiting to get inside, while being served with the original glazed doughnuts🍩💦which kept on going round and was FREE🤗

Original Glazed Doughnut 🍩💦

It is not fluffy, it is not thick or fleshy it is light, I think because doughnut is meant to be a “snack” not a meal .And yes when I first saw it I expected it to be a lot bigger in size but oh well😔perfectly glazed and I don’t know whether it is a personal problem but I like my doughnut hot,not steaming hot oh, but warm hot😩. “E” thinks they were extra fresh,soft and melted in your mouth which I agree with. It is pretty decent🤗N450each

So we decided to go for  “choose your own dozen” (N5200) Good choice as we could taste variety and you know get that “gourmet goodness”🍩💦😋☺️

Red velvet cake 

Hmm I didn’t really like this I am a sugar person but it was wayyy too sugaryy😩 sugar clustered with dough🤦🏽‍♀️ (crumbles easily) well “E”didn’t really agree to this was his best and he thought it was crunchy and felt they could improve on it by making it more of a “Cakey-doughnut” rather than a “crumbly doughnut”

Well “E” says that it was just a basic classic doughnut and he can aswell eat “agegebread “ and be satisfied with it welllll... not minding his rude ass🙄this was my bestttt the filling was everything🍓💦😩😩and it just yum

Fresh ‘N’ fruity strawberry 🍓

We both agreed that there was nothing  really special about this doughnut the glaze was just really there and not all that moving.

Chocolate iced glazed with  sprinkles 🍩

“E”s choice and ended up saying nothing really there, nothing special or out of ordinary but worth the try which I agree with and personally not really a fan of sprinkles 🤷🏽‍♀️

More or less the glazed doughnut with a bit of “design “nothing to fancy but “one of their prettiest doughnuts”🤗

Cookies and creme 

“E” says it was nice, had the classic Krispy Kreme taste well in my opinion i feel that it was just there tbh nothing to fantastic but worth the try, I love cookies but the cookies on it didn’t really make the cut to be honest for me 🤷🏽‍♀️

Chocolate🍫custard 

This one was like my second best wayy too good, the custard filling??🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽💦😩😩with the chocolate glaze, amazing😍😍it was bursting my brain and “E” agrees and says this deserves accolades ✨

NY cheesecake

“E” really liked it and felt that the lemon zing to it sort of brought down the good vibes of this doughnut, which I agree and they should just have left it as the normal plain custard in the”chocolate custard” doughnut which would have made this doughnut a hit and a 9/10 😔

Caramel Kreme crunch

This dougnut was gushing and oozing with caramel goodness, if your a fan of caramel this would be a major hit for you😉😏we both loved and it was really nice with the crunch at the top.

Brownie

To be honest they didn’t try at all for what I know a brownie is truly meant to be this was a bit far from it but oh well, but uncle does not agree and says it was crunchy, nice and

NY Strawberry cheesecake

We both agreed that it was really nice just like the “NY cheesecake” just that the filling was different and had a really nice design.

Iced mocha(cold)

Well this wasn’t really “E”s thing as he didn’t  really fancy the espresso but on their hand I really liked it. It was quite refreshing🤗

This was hot had it in the afternoon but you can also free me🙄😩it was goooddd ☕8/10  (remember to blow oh before you drink, made that mistake and you can imagine how it felt🤦🏽‍♀️😩)

Is it worth the money?.

No, but yes, at first,  so that you try it, experience it and see for yourself🤗, but personally I feel it is not worth me spending my money on regularly, it would be a once in a blue moon thing.

Is it nice ? Yes it is, with no hesitation .

Size??? The size is really a put off, for the price they sell it, twice the size(if not three times😒) of their  glazed doughnut in my school goes for N100 and its quite filling and fresh and hot with proper glaze and quite better, and I have to put N450 into buying a doughnut(N350 difference) which is not even the temperature at which I like it😒doesn’t really make complete sense but I guess we are paying for “goodwill” and all of that🤷🏽‍♀️.

Was I disappointed?

I felt disappointed really and truly and I feel that after so much hype of it coming to Nigeria it was really a bit overrated🙃or maybe I’m the one that had really high expectations, didn’t say they didn’t leave up to it because it was fresh✅ soft and melted in your mouth ✅ but there can be more to improved on; still standing on either an increase in size or a decrease in price😩“ Doughnut is snack not a meal 🤷🏽‍♀️” ( someone will now say🤧).

On the plus side the coffee, latte and frozze  are really fantastic and worth the money 💯 and definitely worth trying out and don’t mind spending on that🤗 and also a location for pictures for a new Instagram post😏😉(the balcony upstairs in v.i branch)
